Inspired by Gaudi

Gaudi Inspired Circles 1 & 2. Watercolor on paper

While looking for inspiration, my husband gave me a Gaudi book and said "I think you will find inspiration here". I sure did. I have always admired the works of Antoni Gaudi.

This is the result, a homage to his work with colored tiles arranged in mosaic patterns.

These two paintings have found new homes, the first one belongs to my sister and the second one to my parents.

Going green

Leaves. Watercolor on paper

I felt inspired by the plants in my house and decided to paint a more "organic" version of my mandalas.

I really enjoy painting leaves, and trees.. with blue trunks :)

I have been drawing mandalas..

Mandala No. 5. Watercolor pencil on paper

I started drawing Mandalas some years ago and it quickly became one of my favorite things to do.

In various spiritual traditions, mandalas are used to facilitate meditation. I can't tell if I am achieving a meditative state but I can get lost in them.. time flies when I am drawing one!

Mandalas have been found in hundreds of cultures, they are considered sacred in many of them and they are always symmetrical.

This one is the largest I've made. It is about 50 cms. wide.
